When it comes to making body butters experimenting with different natural butters to find your perfect match is key. After all, we all have different skin types and what works for someone with super dry skin just won’t cut it for someone with oily skin.

Plus, there can be other variables that affect what our skin needs in addition to our skin type. For this reason, I make different body butter to suit my skin type and that will work on my skin depending on which season we are in.

Whipped Body Butter Recipe

For example during hot summer months, it’s great to have a light shimmer body butter stick on hand. It’s not too greasy but still moisturizing and gives your skin a nice summery glow.

This vanilla latte body butter recipe is another example of a body butter that is great to have on hand. Plus it can be used year round and is great for almost all skin types because of the body butter ingredients used to make it.

It is made with some sumptuous butter including TUCUMA BUTTER and KOKUM BUTTER. Using these two buttes together makes this body butter feel so nice on the skin. Now if you have never heard of these butters you are in for a treat.

In general, they feel very light on the skin but are still very moisturizing. Both are noncomedogenic and if you find that they are greasier than you hope, well you can always customize the body butter to fit your needs.

I think you will love this homemade whipped body butter recipe just the way it is, whipped, lightly scented, and with just a few glittery sprinkles on top.

WHAT IS WHIPPED BODY BUTTER?

Body butter is a rich, thick, and creamy moisturizer for the skin. Because of its rich and thick consistency, it can be an excellent moisturizer for dry skin. But depending on which type of butter is used to make the body butter it can work wonders for all skin types.

DIY body butter can be made at home using just one butter like shea butter or you can add multiple kinds of butter. Either way, it’s sure to be a treat for the skin.

How to Make Body Butter

For this DIY whipped body butter recipe, I ventured out and added some lesser known butters including KOKUM BUTTER and TUCUMA BUTTER. Even though they are lesser known they are relatively easy to find.

NATURAL BUTTER USED TO MAKE WHIPPED BODY BUTTER

KOKUM BUTTER

Kokum butter is a vegetable butter that has a smooth off white appearance. It won’t clog the pores, it’s filled with antioxidants and it’s very moisturizing. It’s said to be cell regenerating, meaning it can heal the skin.

This butter is a great ingredient for this particular whipped body butter recipe because it has a very mild scent. I used a VANILLA FRAGRANCE OIL to give this whipped body butter a nice scent. Kokum Butter is an excellent body butter ingredient to use to make fluffy whipped body butter.

Butter for Skin Benefits

Kokum butter also has a high melting point so it’s a great ingredient to use in body butter which can sometimes melt in hotter weather. If you wanna know more about the melting points of different butters used to make body butter check out WHIPPED TO PERFECTION: The Ultimate Guide To Body Butter For Beginners. The guide was created to help you master and perfect body butter.

TUCUMA BUTTER

One of my favorite non-greasy natural butters to use when making DIY body butter is Tucuma Butter. It is very emollient and moisturizing. Tucuma butter leaves the skin feeling silky soft and supple.

It does have a slightly nutty aroma but it’s not as nutty as the smell of Shea Butter, which is a DIY skincare staple and a Must Have Natural Butter. Tucuma Butter make this DIY whipped body butter recipe something truly special.

Tucuma Butter Benefits

OILS USED TO MAKE BODY BUTTER

APRICOT KERNEL OIL

One would think that to make a luxurious body butter you only need butter, right? Wrong. To make a great whipped body butter recipe adding different vegetables, like apricot kernel oil and fruit oils will give you that luxurious texture you are looking to achieve.

Apricot Kernel Oil is a very light weight oil which makes it ideal for skincare. It has a pale yellow color and a very light aroma. Here are some other amazing benefits of using APRICOT KERNAL OIL for skincare:

  • Apricot Kernel Oil won’t clog the pore so it can be used on all skin types.
  • It’s moisturizing but won’t leave the skin feeling greasy.
  • If you have irritated skin, apricot kernel oil can help to soothe the skin due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
  • With regular use, it’s said to help smooth out fine lines and improve skin elasticity.
Ingredients for Body Butter

SUNFLOWER SEED OIL

This DIY whipped body butter recipe is on a non-greasy body butter roll. Sunflower seed oil is another light weight oil that’s included in this body butter recipe.

It has many benefits for the skin. Here are a few of sunflower seed oils skincare benefits that you might not have known about:

  • Like apricot kernel oil, with regular use, skin texture and appearance can appear smoother.
  • Sunflower seed oil is noncomedogenic so it won’t clog the pores of the skin.
  • It’s also been said to help reduce skin inflammation and redness.

ALMOND OIL

Using multiple oils in any whipped body butter recipe gives you the ability to customize the body butter based on your skin’s needs. Almond oil is light weight and penetrates the skin easily. It contains vitamin A which can help clear acne and vitamin E which protects, hydrates, and calms the skin.

CORN STARCH

Corn starch is a great way to cut done on any greasyness in body butter. Arrowroot powder is a great alternative to use if you prefer not to use corn starch.

Using corn starch in homemade body butter can be soothing for the skin and when combined with the other ingredients used to make this vanilla latte body butter recipe it makes for the perfect non greasy body butter moisturizer.
