Before you start making bath bombs be on the lookout for certain issues that can occur. Here are a few bath bomb issues and how to solve them.
- Cracking or breaking bath bombs: This means they are probably too dry. To prevent this from happening make sure the bath bomb mixture feels like wet sand. Don’t over-saturate the mixture. Make sure to use the correct ratio of wet to dry ingredients.
- Bath bomb fragrance disappearing: Be sure to use high quality fragrance oils and store bath bombs in an airtight storage container.
- No fizzing action: Use quality baking soda and citric acid. Also, if the mixture is too dry it might not fizz well. Be sure to use the correct wet to dry ratio.
- Sticky bath bombs: This can occur if the bath bomb mixture is too wet. Add more baking soda or citric acid to even out the ratio of wet to dry ingredients.

2. Measure and sift the baking soda, citric acid, and coconut milk powder, place them in a mixing bowl together, and stir the ingredients together.
3. Next, measure the castor oil and the almond oil and stir them together.
4. In a separate bowl measure the lavender fragrance oil and polysorbate 80 and combine and stir them together.

TIPS FOR MAKING BATH BOMBS
- To prevent the mixture from drying out. Spritz it several times with witch hazel unit it’s damp. Do not over saturate the mixture.
- If the bath bomb is stuck in the mold. Give the stainless steel mold a couple of taps with the back of a spoon to get the bath bomb to loosen up. Then try removing it.
- Allow the bath bomb to dry for 24 hours before using.
5. Pour all of the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and start mixing the mixture with your gloved hands.
6. Once the mixture feels damp and can hold its form take half the mixture and put it into a separate bowl.
7. Now add several drops of fushia liquid coloring or mica into half of the mixture. Using your gloved hands mix the colorant into the bath bomb mixture.
8. Next, place several rose petals into the bottom of the mold.
9. Now begin filling half the mold with the bath bomb mixture and alternate between the two colors.
10. Fill the other half of the mold using the same alternating technique. Over filling the mold slightly.
11. Push both sides of the molds together and now gently pull the mold apart, revealing the round bath bomb.
12. Let dry for 24 hours before using.

- 1/4 cup Epsom Salt
