Measure out 30g of kaolin clay and place in it's own bowl.
Next, measure 6g of turmeric powder and place it in its own bowl.
Set all of the ingredients in the previous steps aside for now.
In a separate heat-safe container measure 83g of distilled water and add 5g of glycerin to the distilled water and stir the two ingredients together.
Then in another heat-safe container measure and combine 8g of grape-seed oil, 8g of almond oil, 3g of stearic acid, and 5g of emulsifier NF.
Create a water bath by using a double boiler to warm up all the ingredients. Place the heat-safe container with the water and glycerin as well as the heat-safe container with the ingredient from step 5 into the water bath over low heat. Allow all of the ingredients to fully melt. Melting could take about 15 minutes or longer depending on the heat source.
Once all of the ingredients are warm and melted remove them from the heat source.
Now, pour the oil and emulsifier mixture into the water and glycerin mixture.
Using a stick emersion blender, blend the items together on the pulse setting. This is to make sure the ingredients are blended together well.
Now start adding about 1/2 of the kaolin clay powder and use the emersion blender to blend. Once mixed all in the remaining kaolin clay powder. As you are blending you will notice the mixture start to thicken up.
Next, start adding in the turmeric powder, a small amount at a time. And stir it in with a spoon or spatula until it's blended well. At this point, the mixture will be thick and have a yellow-golden color.
Add 1g of essential oil, I used ylang-ylang as it doesn't cause photosensitivity.
Add 1g of optiphen preservative.
